Construction Project

The library you know and love has undergone some HUGE changes!

We received a generous grant from the State Education Department. This enabled us to renovate our entire library, both inside and out. We have modernized the library’s appearance and reached our ADA compliance goals.

Some of these changes are, but are not limited to:

• New furniture
• New bookshelves
• Updated technology
• An accessibility incline
• A new sidewalk
• Automatic doors
• A designated break room/private sitting area
• A public sign close to the road
• A new bookdrop and cart
• New children’s cases and books

A whole team of businesses is helped us complete this project! Including:

• Architectural/Project Management: Aubertine & Currier Architects
• New Furnishing: Toledo (prev. Brodart) and Educational Furnishings
• Construction Labor: Continental Construction

Now that our construction and overall project is officially nearing it’s end, we will be doing a “soft” reopen to the public on March 1st. This means that the public can go back to visiting the library and utilizing it’s services!

We will return to checking out books, taking holds, distributing library cards, etc. Our “grand” reopening date will be determined at a later time and will be set sometime in Spring. The grand reopening will be a special event for the public to celebrate the library, it’s history, and everyone that supported us throughout this process!

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who offered to volunteer to help get our library ready for reopening. We appreciate every one of you!
